The College offers the bachelor of arts degree with concentrations in more than 40 academic programs in four divisions: Arts; Languages and Literature; Science, Mathematics, and Computing; and Social Studies. In addition, the Bard College Conservatory of Music offers a dual-degree program in which students earn both a bachelor’s degree in music and a B.A. in another field in the liberal arts or sciences.

Founded in 1861, Vassar College is a highly selective, residential, coeducational liberal arts college. Consistently ranked among the top liberal arts colleges in the country, Vassar is renowned for pioneering achievements in education, for its long history of curricular innovation, and for the beauty of its campus.

Marist College, recognized for excellence by U.S. News & World Report, TIME Magazine and the Princeton Review, and by Barron's Best Buys in College Education, is noted for its leadership in the use of technology to enhance the teaching and learning process. Founded in 1929, Marist's 150-acre campus overlooks the Hudson River in the heart of the historic Hudson Valley, midway between New York City and Albany, the state capital.

Vanderbilt Mansion NHS, in terms of architecture, interiors, mechanical systems, road systems and landscape, is a remarkably complete example of a gilded-age country place, illustrating the political, economic, social, cultural, and demographic changes that occurred as America industrialized in the years after the Civil War.

With over 160 fairs to its credit, The Dutchess County Fair boasts "a tradition of excellence." With great pride in our past, we now have our sights squarely focused on the future. Plans are underway to further expand the Turn of the Century Village that now showcases the One Room Schoolhouse. Discussions continue on a working Sugar House and Cider Mill right on the fairgrounds. "Spectacular Lights and Holiday Nights" a drive-through attraction utilizing much of the fairgrounds is being planned for the Holidays

Called "the Hudson Valley's flagship winery" by The New York Times and "a great place to visit" by The Wall Street Journal, Millbrook Vineyards & Winery is conveniently located in the magnificent Hudson River Valley just 1.5 hours from both New York City and Albany. It is glorious to visit any time of year.

The Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge, built in the late 19th century to link New York and New England to the coal beds of Pennsylvania and the West, is a marvel of Industrial Revolution engineering. It fills the sky over the Hudson River, a muscular lattice of trusses and struts on giant footings, a survivor from a long-gone era before bridge mediocrities like the Tappan Zee. On Saturday, October 3, 2009 the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park opened to the public to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Hudson River Valley.
